Recovering from an injury is rarely quick, but it can be simple. A clear explanation of what is wrong, a plan you understand and steady, measurable progress make most of the difference. Here is how rehab works at Aspire Physio Bangkok, and what to look for in any rehab programme.

Injuries we help with

How a rehab programme works at Aspire

1. Assessment and goals

Your first consultation is free. Your physiotherapist takes your history, checks how you move, tests strength and range of motion, and explains what they find in plain language. Together you set goals you can measure, such as walking without a limp, lifting your child or getting back to football. We don’t do scans at the clinic, so if you need imaging or a doctor’s opinion we tell you and explain why.

2. Settle the pain

Hands-on treatment calms pain so you can start moving. Depending on your assessment, that can mean manual therapy (joint mobilisation, soft tissue work and massage), dry needling or red light therapy. Complete rest is rarely the answer. We adjust what you do so you keep moving without aggravating the injury.

3. Rebuild strength and control

This is the main part of rehab. The Aspire Coaching gym is in the same building, so your physiotherapist can take you onto the gym floor and coach your exercises in person, often in the same session. Exercises start simple and get harder as the injured area copes, so tissues adapt without being overloaded.

4. Return to work, sport and training

The last stage uses the movements your life demands: running, jumping and changing direction for sport, or lifting and carrying for work. We use criteria as well as the calendar before you go back, such as full movement, no swelling after harder sessions and strength close to the other side.

5. Stay well

Before you finish, you get a home programme and a plan for flare-ups, so you know what to do if symptoms return.

What makes a rehab programme effective

Whoever you see, a good rehab programme should include:

  • A clear explanation of what is wrong and why, so the plan makes sense to you.
  • Progressive exercise that gets harder as you improve, aimed at the injured area and the muscles and joints around it.
  • Measurable goals and regular retesting, so you and your physiotherapist can see whether it is working.
  • Pain management that helps you keep moving, such as hands-on treatment, ice or heat, and adjusting your activity.
  • Mobility work to restore full range of motion and prevent long-term stiffness.
  • A criteria-based return to work and sport, rather than a fixed number of weeks.
  • Education and self-management, so you can look after the problem yourself once rehab ends.

Common questions

How long does rehab take?

It depends on the injury and on you. A minor muscle strain may settle in a few weeks, while rehab after ligament surgery usually takes months. After your assessment, your physiotherapist gives you an estimate and reviews it as you progress.

Can I keep training while I recover?

Usually, yes. Most people can keep training with changes to the exercises, loads or volume. Your physiotherapist shows you what to change and what to avoid for now.

Will my insurance cover it?

Many policies cover outpatient physiotherapy. We give you receipts, a consultation report and a treatment plan for your claim, but we don’t bill insurers directly. Read our insurance guide before your first visit.
